ICE OUT Strike: No work. No school. No shopping. Stop funding ICE.

On Friday, January 30th the team at Modernist joined the US General Strike aka National Shutdown. We committed to: No Work. No School. No Shopping. Stop Funding Ice.

For folks not able to participate in the strike, we suggested making a donation to these local groups keeping our neighbors provided with food, medical care, and legal support (as suggested by leaders in ICE terrorized neighborhoods here):

Think it’s weird that a financial firm joined the strike?

We’re clearer than ever: money is political. Consider asking your bank, investment manager, or accountants how they’re helping fight for civil rights at this moment.

Though we didn’t go about business as usual, we did gather with friends (and total strangers who answered our call) at Modernist HQ to make bag lunches and warming kits for the excellent folks served by Blanchet House - photos of adorable bag decorating and hauling below!

Need a soundtrack to protest?

Sing along to Bruce’s new song Streets of Minneapolis!
